How to attach files to a message in VocaLingo Chat
Tap + next to the message field. Up to 10 files per message, 50 MB each. Photos, PDF, Word, Excel, audio and video; larger videos are compressed first.

Attach a file when you want the AI to read, describe, translate or process it: a photo of a document, a PDF contract, a spreadsheet, a voice message or a short video. Every model in the picker accepts files.
How to attach a file
Open the Chat tab.
Tap + (Attach file) to the left of the message field. The system file picker opens right away.
Choose one or more files. They appear above the message field; tap the cross on a file to remove it.
Write what to do with the files, for example “Translate this contract into English” or “What is in this table?”.
Tap Send.
The + button is inactive while the AI is writing an answer and during voice mode.
From another app
In the iOS and Android app you can send a file or a link to the chat without opening VocaLingo first. In WhatsApp, Telegram, Files, Photos or another app, tap Share and choose Ask VocaLingo. You need to be signed in: if you are not, the app ignores the shared file. The web version has no share menu.

For audio, the chat shows chips above the message field: Recognize speech, Translate audio, Content analysis and Clone voice. For video there is one chip, Translate video. How they work is in chips for audio and video.
Files are paid for like the rest of the chat: the more text, frames or speech the model has to read, the more the answer costs.
If a file is not attached
“Max 10 files”: there are already 10 files in the message. Send them and attach the rest to the next message.
“… is too large (max 50MB)”: the file is larger than 50 MB and could not be compressed. Send a shorter fragment. For a long video, use Video to Text, which accepts files up to 3 GB and links.
“File upload failed”: the connection dropped while uploading. Check the internet and try again.
Frequently asked questions
I want the photo itself with the text in another language. Can the chat do that?
The chat translates the text on a photo and answers with text. To get the same picture with the text redrawn in another language, use Translate photo in Text Translation, see how to translate text from a photo.
Can I send a link instead of a file?
Yes. Paste a link to a web page or a video into the message. The chat reads the page or downloads and transcribes the video, see questions about a video.
