First check how you paid. VocaLingo can't cancel a store subscription for you: Apple and Google manage the renewal, and the subscription stays active until you cancel it in that store.
Where to cancel, by payment method
Premium is cancelled in the same place where you paid for it.
| How you paid | Where to cancel | Renews automatically |
|---|---|---|
App Store (iPhone, iPad) | iPhone Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions | yes |
Google Play (Android) | Google Play app, then Payments & subscriptions | yes |
Card payment on the web (web.vocalingo.app or the web checkout page) | web.vocalingo.app, then Settings, then Balance | yes |
YooKassa (Russian bank card) | nothing to cancel | no |
Deleting the app or your VocaLingo account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. The store keeps charging until you cancel the subscription there.
How to cancel on iPhone or iPad
An App Store subscription is cancelled in your Apple ID settings.
Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
Tap VocaLingo.
Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
You can also start from VocaLingo: open the Settings tab and tap the Balance row with your token count. The subscription management screen opens, and it leads to the same App Store settings.
Apple renews a subscription unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
How to cancel on Android
A Google Play subscription is cancelled in the Google Play app, with the same Google account you used to pay.
Open Google Play.
Tap your profile picture in the top right corner.
Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
Select VocaLingo and tap Cancel subscription.
In VocaLingo, the Balance row on the Settings tab opens the same subscription management screen.
How to cancel a subscription paid on the web
A subscription paid by card on the web is managed in the web version.
Open web.vocalingo.app and sign in to the account you paid with.
Open Settings and tap Balance.
The subscription management page opens. Cancel the subscription there.
If the page shows "Manage this subscription on the device where you bought it.", the subscription was paid through the App Store or Google Play: cancel it in that store as described above. With YooKassa there is nothing to cancel.
YooKassa: nothing to cancel
Premium paid with a Russian card through YooKassa doesn't renew by itself: the card isn't saved. Premium lasts 30 days for the monthly plan and 365 days for the yearly plan. When it ends, you get a notification and an email with a link to renew. The link works for 14 days, and a reminder comes 3 days later. If you don't pay, Premium ends on its own.
What happens after you cancel
Premium keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for. Then:
Unused Premium tokens (1,000 for the month or 12,000 for the year) expire at the end of the period.
Tokens you bought as packs stay on your balance. They don't expire.
The watermark comes back on videos from Video Translation, Add Captions and Voice Changer. Only Premium can turn it off.
Your history is kept in full for 30 more days. After that, only the last 3 items in each tool and the last 3 chats remain. See how history is saved.
If you were charged after cancelling
Usually the subscription is still active somewhere. Check these causes, from the most common:
You deleted the app or the account, but didn't cancel in the store. Open the store's subscription list: if VocaLingo shows a renewal date, the subscription is active. Cancel it there.
You cancelled less than 24 hours before renewal, and the App Store had already started the next period. Ask Apple for a refund (see below).
You have two subscriptions: on another Apple ID or Google account, or one in the store and one on the web. Check every account and payment method you used.
The charge was a token pack. Packs are one-time purchases and never renew. In Settings, Usage History, a pack appears as "Purchase".
How to get a refund
Who decides on a refund depends on where you paid.
App Store
Open reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, choose "I'd like to", then "Request a refund", and select the VocaLingo purchase. Apple makes the decision. VocaLingo can't refund App Store purchases.
Google Play
Within 48 hours of the purchase, you can request a refund from Google Play itself: see Google Play refunds. After 48 hours, Google suggests contacting the developer. Write to us and include the order number that starts with GPA, and we'll review the request.
Web card payment and YooKassa
Write to support and choose the Payment topic, or email info@vocalingo.app. There is no refund button in the app. Requests are handled under the payment provider's rules and consumer law.
What happens to tokens, and what is not refunded
Spent tokens, finished jobs and connected call time are not refunded unless the law requires it. Cancelling stops future renewals but does not refund the current period by itself. The full rules are in the Terms of Use.
When Apple or Google refunds a purchase, the tokens from it are taken off your balance, and a "Refund" line appears in Usage History.
What to include when you write to support
The email of your VocaLingo account.
Where you paid: App Store, Google Play, web or YooKassa.
The date and amount of the charge.
The order number from the receipt (Apple, Google GPA number) or a screenshot of the receipt.
