What you can do in VocaLingo for free
Video downloads in the app, the voice demo in the tour and voice samples cost nothing. Tools and chat use tokens, and you can earn some tokens for free.

VocaLingo has no free plan with a monthly allowance, and a new account starts with 0 tokens. A few things work without tokens at all, and every tool is open to everyone. Premium adds tokens and a couple of extras, no tool needs it.
What works without spending tokens
These features don't charge your balance. Everything else in the app is paid in tokens.

What needs tokens
Every tool and every chat message spends tokens from one balance, with or without Premium. Prices are the same for everyone.
Audio Translation, Video Translation, Text Transcription, Video to Text, Add Captions, Text Analysis.
Text to Speech, Voice Changer, saving your own voice to My Voices outside the tour.

Chat messages, voice mode, image generation and web search in chat. The chat needs a balance above zero to answer.

What Premium adds
Premium is a subscription with tokens included and two extras. It doesn't make tools cheaper.

How to get tokens for free
There is no welcome bonus, but there are four ways to earn tokens. They are collected on one screen: Settings, then Free Tokens. All of them need a full account (email, Google or Apple) and don't work in guest mode.

Frequently asked questions
Will I be charged automatically if I buy tokens?
No. A token pack is a one-time payment and doesn't renew. Premium bought in the App Store, Google Play or on the web renews until you cancel it; Premium paid with a Russian card through YooKassa doesn't renew by itself. See How to cancel Premium.
