The welcome tour is what you saw right after the first sign-in: VocaLingo records your voice and shows it speaking other languages. You can go through it again at any time, for example to show the app to a friend or to record a cleaner sample of your voice.
How to start the tour again
Open the Settings tab.
Tap Take the tour again (under it: "Your voice in 10 languages").
The tour opens on top of the app. To leave it at any step, tap Skip.
What the tour shows
Your voice in 10 languages. You read a short text aloud for about 15 seconds (at least 12), tap Clone my voice, and a few seconds later hear yourself in other languages. Tap a flag to listen.
Video translation: an example of a video with the original on top and the translation in the speaker's voice below.
AI on calls: a demo of live translation and hints during a phone call.
A short summary with tools that fit your tasks.
When you replay the tour, there is no Premium offer at the end: it closes and returns you to the Tools tab.
What happens to the recorded voice
The voice from the tour is free. If you are signed in and at least one language was voiced, the voice is saved to My Voices in Settings under the name "My Voice". Each new recording in the tour adds another voice, so delete the ones you don't need: see managing voices.
If something goes wrong in the tour
"This step needs microphone access". Allow the microphone in your phone settings, or tap Skip this step to watch the other demos. How to allow it: microphone or camera access denied.
"Record at least 12 seconds". Read the whole text to the end without long pauses.
"Daily demo limit reached. Please try again later." You can record the voice in the tour up to 6 times an hour. Wait about an hour and try again.
