How to change the VocaLingo app language
Open Settings → App Language and pick one of 22 languages. The interface switches at once, and the choice is saved to your account.

The app language changes buttons, menus, messages and push notifications. It doesn't change the language you translate into: that is chosen inside each tool.
How to change the language in the app
Open the Settings tab.
Tap App Language.
Pick a language from the list.
The interface switches right away. In the iOS and Android apps you briefly see the splash screen while the new language loads. For Arabic, Urdu and Persian the app restarts once, because the screen layout flips to right-to-left.
Which interface languages there are
The interface is available in 22 languages. In the list each one is shown with its own name, for example "Russian (Русский)".

Tools translate between many more languages than the interface has. The full lists are in supported languages.
Will the language be the same on my other devices
Yes, if you are signed in. The language you choose is saved to your account, so after you sign in on another phone or in the web version at web.vocalingo.app, the interface opens in the same language.
Which language the app uses at first launch
On first launch VocaLingo takes the language of your phone or browser. If that language isn't one of the 22, the app opens in English.
Changing the language in phone settings
You can also set the language for VocaLingo only, without changing the whole phone:
iPhone: Settings → VocaLingo → Language.
Android 13 and later: Settings → Apps → VocaLingo → Language.
The app picks up the new language the next time it opens, and it is saved to your account too.
Frequently asked questions
The app went back to the old language. Why?
The app follows the language saved in your account. Pick the language again in Settings → App Language while signed in, and it will stick on every device.
Does the app language change the language of the AI chat?
Yes. By default AI Chat answers in the app language. If you want an answer in another language, ask for it in your message.
