Not enough tokens: what to do
Buy a token pack or Premium, check where the tokens went in Usage History, or run a shorter task. Premium tokens expire at the end of the period.

When the balance is too low for a task, VocaLingo doesn't start it and opens the "Not enough tokens to finish this action" window with two options: Premium or a token pack. After this window has appeared three times in a day, the app shows a short note instead: "Not enough tokens. Tap the balance badge to top up."
In AI Calls the message is "Insufficient tokens for a call". If the balance runs out during a call, you'll see "Balance depleted. Call ending in … sec", and the call ends.
How to top up
Tap the balance badge in the top right corner of the Tools tab, or open Settings, Balance, Buy tokens.

You can also earn tokens for free: 50 for activating a friend's promo code in a new account, 50 for a review in the store (once), and 1,000 tokens with 30 days of Premium for a post about VocaLingo. Details are in the referral program. New accounts don't get welcome tokens at the moment.
If you have Premium and still run out
Premium doesn't make tools cheaper or unlimited: they cost the same tokens with and without it. Premium only adds tokens to the balance:
Monthly: 1,000 tokens for the period. Unused ones expire when the period ends, and the next 1,000 come with the renewal.
Yearly: 12,000 tokens right after the purchase, with no monthly top-ups. If you spend them sooner, the next ones come only at renewal.
To continue before renewal, buy a token pack. Pack tokens stay on the balance even after Premium ends.
Where the tokens went
Settings, Usage History lists every charge with the tool name, date and amount. Small charges, such as chat messages, text translation or speech recognition, add up and are charged as a whole token once at least one has accumulated. More on this in Usage History.
Which tasks cost the most
Most tokens go to long videos and voices:

Video Translation, Add Captions, Voice Changer and Video to Text charge only after the result is ready: if the task fails, no tokens are taken. To spend less, cut the file and translate only the part you need. All prices are in token prices for each tool.
