Chat memory, reminders and chat history in VocaLingo
The AI remembers lasting facts about you across all chats and sets reminders by push. There is no memory screen: ask the AI to show or change it.

What the AI remembers about you
The AI keeps one short note about you that it sees in every chat and in voice mode. Lasting facts go there: your name, family, work, city, the languages you study, how you like answers written, long-term goals. When the AI saves something, the status shows “Memorizing”.
The AI decides by itself what to remember, and you can ask directly: “Remember that I'm learning German and prefer short answers”. Each time the note is rewritten as a whole, old facts are kept unless you ask to remove them. Things tied to one day or one task, such as today's plan, are not stored in memory.
Besides this shared note, each chat has its own notes of up to 8000 characters: the AI writes down details of the current task there (“Saving chat notes”). These notes are visible only in that chat.
How to view or change memory
There is no memory screen in the app. Ask the AI itself:
“What do you remember about me?” shows the note.
“Forget where I work” removes one fact.
“Clear everything you remember about me” empties the note.
Deleting a chat does not delete memory: the note belongs to your account. It is deleted together with the account.
How to set a reminder
Write in the chat what and when to remind you: “Remind me tomorrow at 9:00 to practice words” or “Every Monday at 8:00 remind me about the Spanish lesson”. The AI confirms the reminder, the status shows “Managing reminders”.
Reminders can be one-time or repeating.
They come as push notifications. If you ask, the reminder also comes by email.
Up to 10 active reminders and up to 10 reminder notifications per day.
There is no list of reminders on a separate screen. Ask “What reminders do I have?”, “Move the Monday reminder to 9:00” or “Cancel the reminder about words”.
Push notifications must be turned on: Settings → Notifications. In a browser, reminders come only on web.vocalingo.app. If notifications do not arrive, see push notifications not working.
Where to find old chats
Open ⋮ at the top of the Chat tab and choose Chat history. The list shows all chats and projects; tap a chat to continue it.
To rename or delete a chat, press and hold it in the list and choose an action.
To delete all chats at once, tap Clear history and confirm.
There is no search box in the history. Ask the AI instead: “Find the chat where we discussed the visa”. The status shows “Searching chat history”, and the AI can continue from what was said there.
How long chats are kept
Without Premium, the last 3 chats are kept; older ones are deleted. With Premium the history is not trimmed. After Premium ends, the history stays untouched for 30 more days, then only the last 3 chats remain. More in how history is kept and deleted.
Frequently asked questions
Will the AI remember my previous chat in a new one?
It remembers the facts from its memory note, but not the whole conversation. To continue an old topic, ask it to find that chat, or open the chat from Chat history.
A reminder did not arrive. Why?
Most often notifications are turned off for VocaLingo in the phone settings, or the daily limit of 10 reminder notifications was reached. Ask the AI “What reminders do I have?” to check that the reminder exists and the time is right.
