Translate a TikTok or YouTube video into your language

Example: a 2-minute TikTok where a blogger talks to the camera in English, and you want it in Spanish to watch or show to someone. You don't need to download the video yourself: Translate Video takes it by link.

Which tool to use and why

For a video where the person speaks on camera, Translate Video with HeyGen fits best: it replaces the speech and matches the lips to it. If you only want to understand what the video is about, a dub is not needed, see Cheaper ways below.

How to translate the video

1. In TikTok or YouTube, tap Share under the video and copy the link.

2. In VocaLingo, open Video Translation on the Tools tab and tap Paste link.

3. Paste the link and tap Download. The app shows Downloading…, Saving… and Finishing…. For YouTube you also choose the quality: a lower one helps for long videos, the file must be up to 2 GB.

4. Tap the settings icon (sliders) in the top right corner. Keep HeyGen for a person on camera, or choose ElevenLabs if the voice is behind the scenes or the music matters.

5. On the Translation tab, choose Spanish and tap Translate video.

6. Check the language and the price in Confirm the language and tap Continue.

7. Keep the app open until «Video sent for translation» appears, then you can minimize it.

On a phone you can skip copying: in TikTok or YouTube tap Share, then More or the system share menu, and choose Translate Video in VocaLingo. The link goes straight into Translate Video.

When the video is ready

The app gives an average of 5–15 minutes. You get an email and a push notification, and the video appears in History of Translate Video. Save it with Save to gallery or send it with Share video; on the web use Download video. Without Premium the video has a VocaLingo watermark. More in How to save or share a translated video.

How much it costs

Translate Video is charged per second and only after the result is ready.

With HeyGen the video can be up to 30 minutes long.

Cheaper ways

If a dub isn't needed, these options cost a fraction of it. The first two are offered right in the What next? block under the video.

• Add translated subtitles: the original voice stays, subtitles in Spanish are burned in, about 12 tokens for 2 minutes. The button starts the subtitles at once. See How Add Captions works.

If the link doesn't download

You'll see «Failed to download file. Please check the link.» A private, age-restricted or deleted video may not download. Make sure the video opens without signing in, or save the file and choose it from your device. If the result sounds wrong, see Why the translated voice sounds robotic.
