Save the video right after it's ready, especially without Premium: older entries are removed from History when new ones arrive.

How to open a finished video

If you stayed on the screen, the video appears on the Translation tab by itself. Otherwise open it from History.

  1. Open Video Translation on the Tools tab.

  2. Tap the History icon (clock) in the top right corner.

  3. Tap an entry with the status Completed. Entries that are still Queued or Processing can't be opened yet.

How to save or send the video

The buttons are under the video on the Translation tab, and they differ between the app and the web.

Save to gallerysaves the video to Photos or Gallery, you'll see «Video saved to gallery»iOS and Android
Share videoopens the share menu: WhatsApp, Telegram, Files, social networks and other appsiOS and Android

The original video can be saved the same way on the Original tab.

How long the video stays in History

Without Premium, History keeps the last 3 entries of Translate Video. A new translation removes the oldest one together with its file. Entries that are still processing or failed are not removed this way.

With Premium, History is not trimmed. After Premium ends, it stays as it is for 30 more days, then it is trimmed to 3 entries. Details are in History: saving, restoring and deleting results.

Watermark on the saved video

Without Premium the saved video always has a VocaLingo watermark. With Premium you can turn off Add VocaLingo watermark on the Translation tab, but only before you start the translation: an existing video can't be changed.

If saving doesn't work

  • «Failed to save video to gallery»: allow VocaLingo access to Photos in the phone settings and try again, or use Share video and choose Save Video or Files.

  • «Failed to download video»: check the connection, close and reopen the entry from History, and try again.

  • The entry is gone from History: without Premium it was replaced by newer translations and can't be restored.

Frequently asked questions

Can I save only the translated sound, without the video?

Translate Video always gives a video file. For audio only, open the same video in Translate Audio: its player sends the voiceover as an audio file. See How Translate Audio works.

Can I get subtitles as a separate file?

No. Translate Video has no subtitle file, and Add Captions burns the subtitles into the video.
