Web search, deep research and reading links in Chat
The chat searches the web by itself when a question needs fresh facts. Deep research reads up to 12 sources. Paste a link and the AI reads the page.

There are no buttons to turn search on. Ask a question about news, prices, schedules or anything recent, and the AI decides whether to look it up. Every model in the chat can search the web.
Web search
When the AI searches, the status above the answer shows “Searching the web”. Sometimes it also checks posts on X: the status is then “Checking X”. The answer is built from what it found and often includes links to the sources.
GPT 6, Claude, Gemini and Grok use their own built-in search. DeepSeek and MiniMax search through VocaLingo's search tool. The result looks the same.
Each search adds a small charge to the answer, usually 1–2 tokens on top of the model's price. If you don't need search, write “answer without searching the web”.
Deep research
Deep research is for questions that need many sources: a market overview, a comparison of several options, a detailed report. The AI splits the question into up to 8 search queries, reads up to 12 sources, runs up to 4 extra searches to fill gaps and then writes one answer.
To start it, write something like “Do deep research on…” or “Make a detailed report on…”. While it runs, the status changes:

Deep research has no fixed price. It costs more than a regular answer because of the many searches and the long text the model reads. It also works in voice mode.
Reading a link
Paste a link to a web page into your message and say what you need: “Summarize https://… in five points” or “What does this page say about returns?”. The status shows “Reading page” while the AI loads it.
The chat reads public pages. A page behind a login or a paywall is usually unavailable. A link to a video works differently: the chat downloads the video and transcribes it, see questions about a video.
Places and prices
Two more kinds of search work the same way, without extra buttons.
Places: ask “Find a pharmacy near the Blue Mosque” and the AI shows addresses on a map with links to Google Maps. The chat does not build routes.
Prices: ask “Where is the iPhone 16 Pro 256 GB cheaper in Dubai?” and the AI checks online stores and marketplaces and compares prices. Give the exact model and the city for a precise result.

The AI retells what it found and can make mistakes. For prices, laws and medical questions open the sources and check them.
