Tap Paste link and VocaLingo downloads the file on its server, up to 2 GB. Importing is free; tokens are spent only on the tool's work.

A link saves you from downloading a video to the phone first. The server fetches the file, so a long YouTube video does not use your mobile data or phone storage.

Which tools accept a link

Paste link is in Audio Translation, Text Transcription, Text Analysis, Video Translation, Add Captions and Video to Text. Voice Changer has no link import. In the chat there is no button: paste the link into the message.

How to import from a link

  1. Copy the link in the app where the video is, using its Share, then Copy link.

  2. Open the tool in VocaLingo and tap Paste link.

  3. Paste the address and tap Download.

  4. Wait for the stages Downloading..., Saving... and Finishing.... You can minimize the app: the download continues in the background.

When the file is in place, Audio Translation, Text Transcription, Text Analysis and Video to Text start by themselves. In Video Translation and Add Captions you set the options first and then start.

Which sites work

SourceWorks
YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, Pinterestyes, including short links such as youtu.be, vm.tiktok.com, fb.watch, pin.it
Direct link to a media file (ends in .mp4, .mp3 and so on)yes
Other sitesVocaLingo tries a general downloader; the result is not guaranteed

The video has to open without signing in. Private posts, videos from closed accounts and pages behind a login usually fail.

Size and quality

A link can bring a file up to 2 GB. This is more than the 100 MB limit for an audio file from the phone, so a long recording that does not fit as a file often fits as a link.

You do not choose the quality: VocaLingo picks it itself. Video Translation and Add Captions take the video in up to 1080p. The other tools only need the sound, so they take a lighter version.

Is importing paid

No. Downloading by link in the app costs nothing. Tokens are spent only on what the tool does next: recognition, translation, captions. Prices are in token prices for each tool.

If the link does not download

The app shows one of two messages:

  • "Please paste a valid link (starting with https://)." The address was copied incompletely or with extra text. Copy it again through the app's Share button.

  • "Failed to download file. Please check the link." The video is private or needs a login, the site is not supported, or the file is larger than 2 GB. Check that the link opens in a browser without signing in. If it does and still fails, download the file to the phone and add it with Choose.
